Assembly poll: NURTW boss preaches peace …canvasses votes for APC candidates

Ahead of the Saturday House of Assembly election, the Ondo State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Jacob Adebo has said members of the union would continue to support the state government for sustainable peace.

This is coming as the NURTW boss directed all the members of the union to come out in their large number and vote massively for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday’s House of Assembly poll.

Adebo popularly called Idajo who spoke with The Hope in Akure, the Ondo state capital, also refuted the allegations making the rounds by the opposition party that the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu wanted to use members of the union to intimidate the opposition parties to his own advantage, describing the allegations as baseless, unfounded and a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the NURTW in the state.

He disclosed that the NURTW under his leadership is known for peace and would continue to sustain it as law abiding citizens and union.

He particularly lambasted the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), for being behind such a baseless and unwarranted allegations, saying that the NURTW under the past PDP government was worst as it was mainly used against the then opposition APC.

 The NURTW Chairman promised to continue to support and cooperate with the present administration to ensure sustainance of the existing peace, just as he called on members across the state to always comport themselves and remain peaceful in their domains .

Adebo encouraged the people of the state, especially the electorate to come out enmasse and cast their ballot for the candidates of the APC to further ensure good governance and overall development of the state.

While saying that the people of the state should be wary of those who do not mean well for the state, Adebo noted that Governor Akeredolu has done much to develop the state, and he should be supported by all to enable him do more.

He listed some of the achievements of the governor in the last two years to include aggressive infrastructural and industrial development, regular payment of salaries including arrears, and many other people-oriented projects.

He reiterated the support of the union for the present administration, saying the governor is doing well for the state, hence the people must give him necessary support to take the state to the next level of greatness.
