Avoid bad influence, students urged

Students have been warned to avoid negative influence and resist making hooligans as friends on campus.
Principal of Adegbola Memorial Grammar School, Mrs Bosede Fadekemi Jogbodo, gave the warning during the Valedictory Service for the school graduands in Akure.
Mrs Jogbodo urged the graduating students to avoid evil associations, advising them to uphold good conduct and never disappoint their school and family.
“Always remember that you are the prospective leaders of the society and hope of your Almar mater. For this, you cannot afford to fail us.
“As you go into a larger society, don’t allow negative influence from friends or peer groups. Resist making miscreants and hooligans your friends because bad manners corrupt good manners.”
She appreciated parents and teachers for their sacrifice of grooming the students well and awarded two students with prizes for good conduct.
The principal, however, presented certificates to active members of the school’s Drama Club for showcasing their talents amidst academic pursuits.
In his goodwill message, Pastor Ademoroti T. admonished the graduates to take up academic responsibilities and avoid being distracted by extracurricular activities on campus.
“Be careful of what you involve yourself in after leaving the four walls of the school. The decisions you make have either negative or positive influence on your future.”
In his vote of thanks, the outgoing Senior Prefect boy, Oladipupo David, applauded the school management for inculcating excellent and moral values in the graduates.
One of the parents, Aminu Alaba, expressed happiness, praying for the outgoing students to consistently succeed in all their endeavours in higher institutions of choice.
Present at the event are the Vice Principals, Head of Departments, teachers, graduates’ parents and students and all rendered thanksgiving to God.
Other activities at the valedictory ceremony include music presentation, drama, and cultural dance.
