Avoid recruitment scammers, ODSG warns residents

By Kemi Olatunde & Babatunde Ayedoju

The Ondo State Government has warned residents of the sunshine state to be wary of scammers who extort money from unsuspecting members of the public with the promise to help them secure jobs in the civil service.

In a statement signed by the Ondo State Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philips, and made available to The Hope on Monday, the state government advised members of the public to avoid offering bribe or any form of inducement to anyone purporting to be in position to facilitate employment either in Ondo State Universal Education Board (ODSUBEB), Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) or any other Government Agencies, adding that the government would not be liable for such under-hand dealings.

The warning came following reports that some unsuspecting job seekers were being extorted by unscrupulous elements regarding the recently-concluded recruitment exercise by ODSUBEB and TESCOM.

“It would be recalled that government has since concluded the recruitment and released the duly signed list and letters of appointment to successful candidates, thus concluding the entire exercise.

“It is instructive to note that, government put in place a transparent, fraud-free process for the recruitment of qualified teachers to fill critical vacancies in both Public Primary and Secondary Schools across the state, leading to the emergence of appointable candidates, at no cost whatsoever,” the statement read.
