Award: I’ll continue to give my best – OSSC GM

By Femi Atolagbe

The General Manager of the Ondo State Sports Council, Mr. Sunday Fagite, has vowed to continue using his experience as a former athlete to contribute to the development of sports in Ondo State.

Fagite made this known while receiving the award of Excellence in Sports Management from Sunshine Standard Magazine in Akure, the state capital.

The former hockey player described the award as a call to do more for the development of sports in the state.

“The award will spur me to work harder by ensuring that we reach the nooks and crannies of the 18 local government areas to discover new talents,” he said.

In a chat with Sporting Hope, Fagite disclosed that efforts are ongoing to ensure that Ondo State is well represented and performs creditably at the forthcoming National Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Ogun State next month.

“Coaches and athletes are on the field, preparing aggressively for the games.

“With the support of my management, I have no doubt in my mind that we will end the national event on a good note, because we are endowed with raw talent in Ondo and have capable coaches.

“This was clearly manifested in the just concluded Niger Delta Sports Festival held in Akwa Ibom State,” he added.

Ondo State finished fifth on the medals table at the maiden Niger Delta Sports Festival.
