In achieving the set goals, the state House Committee on Environment led by its chairman, Success Torhukehijo in company of the state NEWMAP team, Commissioner for Environment, Funso Esan and the company saddled with the study design of the project visited the community to introduce the design company to the community for the work to start in earnest.
Speaking at the forum, Torokerojor appreciated the effort of the state governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who brought the project to bear, adding that now that the project had begun Ayetoro community lost areas would be reclaimed, adding that there would be no more sea incursion in the area.
The lawmaker affirmed that state House of Assembly would ensure that necessary legal frame work for the quick implementation of the project would be put in place, and that the house committee would not relent in its oversight function to ensure the contractor work as scheduled with a plea to the people in the area mostly youths to be peaceful and law abiding.
In the same vein, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Niger Delta, Oyebo Aladetan said the issue of Ayetoro is of a great concern to the governor
Aladetan while presenting the design consultant to the community representatives appealed to them to allow peace reign and create a conducive atmosphere for the contractor handling the project.
Ondo NEWMAP State Coordinator Marcus Adewodun earlier in his welcome address said the state government had approved that the first phase of the project which is the studies and design of the Ayetoro sea area commence without delay.
He stated that there are many more benefiting components in the project which would be revealed as work progress.
