Ayorinde empowers physically challenged-
A politician and Federal lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Dr. Bode Ayorinde over the weekend empowered 104 physically challenged people from the two local governments.
The empowerment estimated at N7million brought tears of joy to the beneficiaries who thanked Ayorinde for the gesture.
Ayorinde, a PDP aspirant during the last National Assembly election described the donation as giving back to the people and a fulfilment of his covenant with God to always assist the physically challenged.
Items distributed include grinding machines, hair dryers, sewing machines, generating sets, wheel chairs, food stuffs and a cash donation of N10,000 to each of the beneficiaries.
The Coordinator, Association of the Physically Challenged in Owo/ Ose local government areas, Mrs Alamudun Bisola commended the gesture of the lawmaker, adding that Bode Ayorinde had done great things in our midst, first of its kind and history will never forget him”
She appealed to the incoming lawmaker to follow the footsteps of the incumbent, saying this will make them to be responsible not only to themselves but also to the larger society.
Also speaking at the event, the state chairman of the association, Comrade Adams praised Ayorinde for his philanthropic gesture despite the fact that he would not be returning to the green chamber of the House.
Adams described the donation as unprecedented because the empowerment was solely for the less privileged and devoid of publicity .
