Two men, who allegedly snatched a bag containing the sum of N40,000 from a woman in Ore, in Ileoluji/Okeigbo local government area of Ondo State, have been dragged before a Magistrate Court sitting in the town.
The police on Wednesday arraigned Tunde Adewale, 24, and Femi Adebayo, 22, for conspiracy and stealing.
According to the police prosecutor, Muyideen Yekini, the duo snatched the bag, property of one Mrs Mary Ovie, on March 26, 2019 at about 1:30pm at Osoro junction, Ore.
But the two men pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
Yekini, who told the court that he would be calling three witnesses to testify in the case, applied for a date to enable him study the case file.
Meanwhile, the wives of the defendants had brought N25,000 to the court and appealed, while they promised to complete the payment at the next setting.
The magistrate, Mr T.J Ajayi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
He adjourned the case till May 30, 2019 for trial.
