The Ondo State Coordinator of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Mr Kenneth Azikiwe has called on the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) to ban alcohol sellers from various motor  parks across the state.

Azikiwe spoke in an interview with The Hope yesterday in Akure.

He said the Presidential Advisory Committee on Elimination of Drug Abusers for the Southwest had during its visit to the state last week met with the  leadership of NURTW in the state to discourage the use of its facilities to sell alcoholic beverages.

He explained that the committee has educated the association against leasing NURTW parks as a source where alcoholic beverages are being sold, adding that it is naturally not good to drive when drunk.

He also called people to report those selling alcohol in sachets for students.

He said elderly ones should be discouraged in sending underage children to buy alcoholic beverages. According to him, drug abuse has become a menace in the society which  everybody should begin to talk about in all places and various  areas of endeavours.
