Sunshine Stars’ Super Eagles invitee, Promise Awosanmi, has been charged to be a good ambassador for the team.
Sunshine Stars’ President, Bamidele Ologunloluwa, expressed his delight over Awosanmi’s invitation to the national team, urging him to remain focused on his purpose for joining the CHAN Eagles.
The invitation of Promise Awosanmi to the Super Eagles B brings the count of Sunshine Stars players in the national camp for the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana to two.
Sunshine Stars midfielder, Seth Mayi, had earlier received a call-up to the Super Eagles B.
Ologunloluwa said, “For the umpteenth time, I am happy that two Sunshine Stars players are considered good enough for the national team during my tenure as President.”
“Again, I congratulate the entire team. As I said before, more of you will be invited for national assignments. Just stay focused and ensure you give your best for the success of Sunshine Stars.”
Promise Awosanmi is unlikely to be part of the Sunshine Stars squad travelling to Owerri this weekend to face Heartland FC in a Match Day 11 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), due to his invitation by Coach Augustine Eguavoen, in preparation for the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana.
