Ondo state police have been charged to be civil in all their undertakings and to everyone they come across.
Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Amidu Salami, charged his officers during his maiden visit to Okitipupa Area Commands.
He warned all policemen to be law abiding, make sure they do what is right, since they are to serve their father’s land.
Salami, sought the support of Police Community Relations Committee, saying he could not do it alone without their support, “Government can not provide every thing for the Police, therefore, we need people within the community to assist, we rely on your cooperation and if anything comes from the government we will not hesitate to let it go round, he appealed.
Earlier, the Chairman Okitipupa Divisional Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) and the State Deputy Chairman , His Highness (Baale) V.E Vincent Atamu , welcomed the CP and his entourage to Okitipupa Area command.
“It is my wish and that of every member of PCRC that your stay in this State would be a memorable one. We indeed look forward to an Ondo State that is secured, crime free and peaceful under your able policing. On our part, we will, like ever before put our time, talent and treasures to assist in this regard”.
“He therefore implored the Policemen and the top management to hasten the recruitment of the special constabulary police so as to assist in combatting crime and criminality in the community.
Area Commander Okitipupa, ACP A.M. Waziri, said: “Indeed, we are exited to receive you in Okitipupa Area Command Headquarters which was in Dec 4, 2017 carved out of Ondo Command and Ore Area command was later carved out of Okitipupa for effective policing”.
“And since then, the crime rate in this area is at manageable level with the untiring efforts of officers and men, the cooperation of royal fathers and spirited people within and around the Area command. The synergy among security agents have also been playing great role in consolidating peace within this Area”.
The DPO Okitipupa Division CSP Alabi Abiodun, thanked the commissioner for coming to the area and promised that the area will align and comply with all the advice and the instructions .
