Be good ambassadors of football, Ondo FA Board charged

By Femi Atolagbe

The newly elected board members of the Ondo State Football Association have been urged to be good ambassadors of the sport.

During their meeting, the board expressed appreciation to the Electoral and Appeal Committees for their efforts in conducting the recent election.

With their mandate secured, the board’s tenure will span the next four years.

It was also noted that some vacant positions still needed to be filled, while both committees received commendation certificates in recognition of their work.

Furthermore, the board approved the dissolution of all committees except the Electoral and Appeal Committees.

These resolutions were contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the board meeting, held at the State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital.

The board extended its gratitude to Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his unwavering support for football development and for ensuring a level playing field during the local and state FA elections.

The communiqué also mandated that all football activities across the 18 local government areas must be coordinated through their respective Local Football Councils.

To enhance football administration, the board constituted a committee to review academies, clubs, and associations affiliated with the Ondo State Football Association.

This committee will be chaired by the Vice Chairman, Dimeji Abimbola, with Ibukun Adetoyinbo and Gabriel Aborowa serving as members.

Additionally, the board approved the establishment of a Committee on Clubs and Affiliation, tasked with determining affiliation fees for clubs.

According to the communiqué, the board acknowledged the need for sponsors to support the FA’s activities.

Members reaffirmed their loyalty to the Otunba Dele Ajayi-led board, pledging to work towards the development of football across all 18 local government areas in the state.
