Be good ambassadors, women charged

Women in Osun state have been implored to be good ambassadors by thriving for the progress of the state.
Wife of the state governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola gave the admonition while playing host to the state chapter of the National Council of Women Societies in Nigeria in her office in Osogbo.
She also tasked the women to restore fully the dignity of womanhood and rise for the right of the girl-child through gender balance advocacy .
Mrs Oyetola who advocated equal opportunity for the women folk at all level in the country, stressed that it is high time women were actively involved in politics.
She added that the present administration in the state will continue to provide equal opportunities for all citizens without prejudice to gender and social-economic background.
The first lady while reiterating the present administration’s commitment to protecting and upholding the dignity of women in the state, noted that necessary machinery has been put in place to eradicate the issue of health problems.
She said the rehabilitation of all health centers across the state will put an end to maternal mortality in the society.
Earlier, the President of the group, Mrs Betty Adelowo noted that the association which was established in 1958 was established to promote women economic empowerment in order to be relevant in all sectors across the country.
