Be pillars not caterpillars, cleric tasks Christians

The Regional Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries South West 100, Pastor Ebenezer Babatope, has charged Christians to be pillars and not caterpillars in the work of God.

He made the statement during his sermon on Sunday titled, “Pillars, Counter-pillars and Caterpillars in the church”

He defined pillar as a support that sustains or upholds the wall or fence on which some super structures rest on.

The cleric posited that there were people in the Bible who were pillars in serving God such as John, Peter, James, Phoebe, Dorcas, Barnabas, Mary Magdalene, Aaron and Moses.

He averred that if men and women can be seen as pillars in the bible, it means that everyone must be a pillar either in their families, communities, where they live and in the church of God.

He also outlined the qualities of a pillar to include selflessness, in support commitment to the growth of the church, service and reliability.

He affirmed that counter-pillars are the greatest sources of discouragement and setbacks ,that cause the work of God toretrogress.

“If there are no human pillars such as Dorcas, Peter, Moses and Phoebe, the church of God, families and the society at large cannot function effectively”, he reiterated.
