The Federal Government has been urged to take a proactive measure to curb the degenerating trend of Security in the country.

The Senator-elect for Osun East Senatorial District, Prince Francis  Fadahunsi who disclosed this in his hometown, Obokun in Osun state flayed the incessant worsening security situation in Nigeria, describing it as precarious and unacceptable.

Fadahunsi, a retired Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs said the insecurity situation in the country is the worst in the nation’s history since its return to democracy.

“The rate of banditry, kidnapping, communal clashes and robbery is overwhelming and one wonders what the service chiefs are doing or what they tell Mr. President when they see him”

Fadahunsi alleged that the military shows their prowess against voters and innocent citizens during elections but finds it difficult to face hoodlums and bandits who have taken over our towns and highways

He stressed that the security crisis in the nation has taken a terrible dimension such that State Governors declare curfew like holidays and nothing tangible is achieved.

The Senator-elect suggested the demilitarization of the nation, according to him, the military men could also be a major reason for the tension.
