Be righteous, public servants urged

Public servants have been admonished to be righteous and move closer to God in order to receive unending favour.

Pastor Olutope Gbenga Adesugba who gave the admonition during the September prayer meeting of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) held at the commission premises in Akure,the state capital urged the workers to flee from sin.

The clergy said “What God needs from you is to run away from sin and move closer to him, He will do the unthinkable wonders.”

Chairman of the Commission, Mr Femi Idris while addressing the staff appreciated them for their immense cooperation towards the progress of the commission.

Idris said the monthly  prayer meeting was a divine avenue to communicate and interact with the workers adding that it had ensured cordial relationship between the management and the staff.

He added that “It is also a means to reawaken the workers consciousness about government policies.”

The meeting has been yielding results individually and collectively as an  instrument for fostering unity among the workers generally.

The commission  reiterated that the workers should do all they could despite all the temptations in the world  to do away with sin in order to get to where God has destined them to be .

Local Government Service Commission NULGE president, Mr Doglas Fagbaigbo commended the commission’s management for creating the avenue for the workers and the management to interface for the progress and overall welfare of the workers.

He said the feedbacks from the meeting have always been encouraging, adding that the current government has not failed them in terms of workers’ welfare.

Fagbaigbo thanked the state government for creating the enabling environment for the commission’s management to revive and approve their yearly abandoned All- Inclusive Workshop tagged “Gbalumo”.

He therefore appealed to the management to sustain the momentum,  saying the staff were ready to give their 100 percent support to the government at all times.
