In a bid to ensure the safety of lives and property in Osun state, commercial motorcyclists have been advised to be extra vigilant on duty.
The state governor, Gboyega Oyetola gave the advice while playing host to harmonised commercial motorcyclists (Okada) and tricycle association in his office on Wednesday.
The governor said they should be extra vigilant and never hesitate to report any suspicious passenger to security agents.
Oyetola noted that kidnappers and ritualists now see okada as a veritable tool to carry out their nefarious activities.
He expressed displeasure with the attitude of some unscrupulous elements who hide behind commercial motorcycle business to perpetrate evil in the society.
The governor observed that the primary responsibility of any government is the security of lives and property of its citizens.
Oyetola said it is a duty his administration is taking with utmost seriousness.
He charged all transport unions in the state to get rid of bad eggs in their unions in order to have confidence in them and ensure a crime free society.
