Believe in yourself, Starlets urged

Chairman Ondo State House Committee on Youth and Sports Development, Mr Adewale Williams has charged the pioneer pupils of Sparkling Eagles Sports Academy to aim higher and believe in their ability to excel professionally.

Williams gave the charge during the unveiling of the Sparkling Eagles Sports Football Academy at the Federal College of Agriculture Akure sports complex.

He expressed delight in the lofty idea of the initiator stressing that the idea will give the kids self confidence and self reliance.

He urged coaches and instructors to be up and doing to ensure the academy achieve the goals of developing grassroots football.

He promised his committee will assist the academy to achieve greatness.

Earlier Chairman of Sparkling Eagles Sports Academy, Mr Akinsola Akinbobola revealed what gave birth to the project which he said was because  we are not starting playing football early in this part of the world which has in many ways done harm other than good to our sports generally.

Akinbobola revealed further that the dream of the academy  was to identify the kids early and develop them to stardom adding that in the next few years they want to see the products of the academy doing excellently well in football arena.

In his good will message, the General Manager of the Ondo State Sport council, Mr Wande Fabuluje said the project is a dream comes through in football development.

Fabuluje charged the coaches to be focus in order to take the academy to greater height.

A parent, Mrs Adepetu Tosin appealed to the kids to turn their dream to passion.

“With what I’m seeing here today, I’m convincing that kids can play football and still excel in their academy.”
