Bet9ja ODFL Super Eight: We ‘ll be fair to all teams– Seriki

…as FA charges teams on discipline

The Committee for the Bet9ja Ondo State Football League has conducted the draws for the Super Eight of the ongoing competition.

Recall that over 60 teams had participated in the preliminary stage of the competition across the three senatorial district of the state.

At the competition’s Super Eight draws held at the Club Elan in Akure on Saturday had all the representatives of the qualified eight teams in attendant.

The draws pitched Raw Gold against KB FC in the first match of the encounter on Monday, while Ijapo Ages will lock horns with KFC and Real Ifon battle Elite FC, while Royal Crown will play Ashysam FC in the match day two of the encounter.

The semi finals will be played on Thursday, while the final is scheduled for Saturday, May 25 all at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.

The Chairman of the Committee,Akogun Yomi Seriki, said the committee did not have preference for any of the teams and would be fair to all.

Seriki said he was happy with the way all the teams conducted themselves at the preliminary stage of the competition, saying, “though no perfect competition, but we will continue to improve.”

He urged all the teams to respect the sponsor and use internal mechanisms set up by the committee to channel any of their grievances instead of disrespecting the brand on social media.

Also speaking, the Football Association Chairman,Otunba Dele Ajayi, said the teams should take the competition serious as the winner of the competition will represent the state in the next season’s Nationwide League One (NLO).

Ajayi appreciated the sponsor for the support for the second edition of the state league said all teams should be disciplined, especially their players.

He later announced prize money amounting to about two N2 million for the eight teams with the winner going home with the grand total of five hundred thousand.

The FA Chairman later commended the chairman of the committee and other members for a job well done so far.
