Lone goal from Nosa Enabulele was all Ijapo Ages Stars FC (IASFC) needed to defeat M-MAX FC in the Ondo State football League (OSFL) Central Senatorial District (CSD) playoffs played at the Ijapo Housing field, Akure.

Both teams took the game to each other with their eyes on goal, but Ijapo Ages Stars FC got the first and decider of the cagey encounter in the 24th minute from Nosa Enabulele.

The gangling striker fired into the top roof corner of the net with his left foot through a sublime square pass from his team mate to score the decider of the game.

Both sides displayed football artistry to the admiration of the spectators at the football arena with M-MAX FC goal keeper on many occasions, agonisingly denied the Ijapo Landlords from extending their lead before the center referee signalled for the end of the first stanza.

The hostility continued in the second half with M-MAX showing more character to level their deficit, but they were met with solid Ijapo Ages Stars FC defence.

Ijapo Ages Stars FC goalkeeper, Ayomide Francis calmly saved  M-MAX ball in the 72nd minute.

No goal was recorded in the second half of the entertaining encounter, despite both teams mounted pressure on each other as Ijapo Ages Stars FC kept the maximum points in the kitty.

In a chat with newsmen, Ijapo Ages Stars FC Coach Adeola Adetomiwa commended his side for playing according to the game plan, saying the players were focused from the blast of the game to the end.

Adetomiwa charged them to keep the fire burning, saying they should not relax until the club targets are achieved.

“Our next match is on Friday, against Elite FC, we are not expecting anything short of victory in the encounter, so I charge you to rest, as we all know resting is part of training, we would all look fresh on Friday when we play our last match in the Central Senatorial District playoffs and by God’s grace we qualify for the super eight.”

Earlier, Zion Warriors FC played a 1-1 draw against Wonder xchange ,while Barrack Eagles lost 0-2 to Royal Goldwin Sports Academy.
