Nigerian born frontline track and field athlete, Blessing Okagbare has expressed disappointment in the alleged maladministration bedeviling running of sports in the country.
Okagbare as she is fondly called by her admirers, who took to her social media handle decried that those who had no business in sports business were inflicting damage on the prospect of the sports in Nigeria.
Her words: “I have said it before and will say it again, if you do not know sport, not passionate, to us (the athletes) then you have no business there as an administrator.
“The sport system in Nigeria is so flawed, and the athletes are always at the receiving end.
Okagbare further said “they were busy fighting over power, exercising their pride over Puma contract/kits forgetting their major responsibility (the athletes).
She further noted, “It is sad that the cycle keep repeating itself and some people will come out to say I am arrogant, it is my career,” she said.
