Blindness can’t hinder my music career

An Akure born impaired gospel singer, Idowu Oluwasola Philip, has said that disability does not turn him to beggar but to stand firm in Christ.
According to him, disability is not the end of life, and urged people to work hard to achieve their goal.
He disclosed this while speaking with Friday Extravaganza, during an interview. He advised others like him not to rely on their disability but take a step to turn it to ability.
The artiste sated that since he has been singing God has been so good to him despite the challenge he has living with.
Idowu, who narrated how he started his music career said he cannot allow his talent to perish because of his challenge.
“I can sing, I go to revival programmes in churches to minister, and also work on the computer.
He noted that he started his music career at the age of seven.
“I joined the school band in JSS3, which gave me the opportunity to be appointed as a Fellowship coordinator of the chorister, he said.”
He disclosed that all his songs were composed by him.
“I have more than thirty songs composed by me which are sang in many churches.
“I do receive inspirations in three ways when I am thinking, when I am reading the scripture (Bible), when am in trance” he said.
The gospel musician, a graduate of Mass communication at the University of Nigeria, Nnsuka identified his role model to be Evang. Niyi Adedokun and Evang. Ojo Ade.
He mentioned some of his challenges to include lack of sponsors, lack of funds and no monetary encouragement after ministering.
He however advised young musicians not to relent in achieving their purpose in life.
“If I can be a blind person and still be struggling, then, there was no excuse for anyone to be idle.
“We should believe that things will be well, because there are brighter days ahead ” he admonished
