Blue House wins School for the hearing
impaired 7th annual inter-house sports

Blue House yesterday scored 406 points to emerge winners of the 7th annual Inter- house sports competition of the School for the hearing impaired, Akure.

Red house came second with 400 scores while Green house and Yellow house settled for 3rd and 4th positions with 394 and 329 scores respectively.

The inter house sports competition held at the school play ground saw the hearing impaired students displaying their God gifted talent to the admiration of the spectators.

In a chat with Newsmen, the principal of the school, Prince Mike Ologbese thanked God for the success of the competition, saying he was so happy because the students were all happy.

The principal commended the state government for always giving speedy approval for the school’s requests.

He appealed to philanthropists across the state to extend their helping hand to the school, saying Government alone can’t do it.

The event mother of the day, Mrs Rosemary Adeola Fynch implored parents not to hide their children at home saying there is ability in disability.

“I’m overwhelmed with the display of the talent by the students.”

Among the invited school at the competition are school for the Physically challenged Ikare, visually impaired Owo, School for the intellectually impaired, Oke Igbo.
