Boat theft lands man in prison

An Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court has remanded a man, Ukpeke Tombra in Okitipupa prison for allegedly stealing a flying boat Suzuki engine belonging to one, Keteke Naira.
The police prosecutor, Insp. Ayodeji Omoyegba told the court that Tombra, unlawfully converted the Suzuki 30 engine valued at N150,000 to his own.
Omoyegba said the accused committed the offence at about 10.00 a.m on September 15, 2018 at Ajapa camp via Arogbo in the Arogbo Magisterial District.
The prosecution said the offence contravened section 290 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The accused person however pleaded not guilty to the charge .
The presiding magistrate, D. O Ogunfuyi granted the suspect bail with the sum of #100,000 and two sureties in the like sum and adjourned the case till July 17, 2019 ordered that the accused be remanded in Okitipupa prison until their bail conditions are perfected.
