Breaking: Abducted Afenifere youth leader freed after 12 days in captivity

The National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Olajuni, has regained his freedom after spending 12 days in the custody of his abductors.
His release was confirmed on Saturday by the National Secretary of the Youth Council, Biodun Aderohunmu, who conveyed the news in a brief WhatsApp message stating, “He has been released.”
Olajuni was seized on Monday, 17 February 2025, while travelling to Abuja for a meeting. His captors had initially demanded a ransom of N100 million and two tricycles in exchange for his release.
A viral video had earlier surfaced online, showing Olajuni pleading for help at gunpoint. In response, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to facilitate his rescue.
