The Ondo State Election Petitions Tribunal has commenced proceedings with its inaugural sitting at the State High Court in Akure, the state capital.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is present at the session, which is set to address petitions arising from the November 2024 gubernatorial election.

The tribunal, tasked with resolving disputes stemming from the election, began with preliminary hearings concerning petitions filed by aggrieved parties.

This marks a significant stage in the post-election legal process as various political stakeholders seek redress over alleged electoral irregularities.

The tribunal is anticipated to examine petitions from opposition parties and candidates, who have expressed concerns regarding the election’s conduct, the declaration of results, and other related electoral issues.
