Bricklayer in court for recording lady’s nude video

A 32-year-old bricklayer, Ifedayo Mohammed has been dragged before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ondo town, for recording the nude video of one Ogunyemi faith without her consent.

     The defendant is facing a three-count charge of breach of peace by taking the lady’s nude video and for unlawfully requesting N20,000 from the complainant.

The police prosecutor, Mr Akao Moremi said the defendant committed the offence in May 23, 2022, at Ore-Ofe Street, Ile-Oluji.

The charge read in part: ”That you, Mohammed Ifedayo and three others on May 23, 2022 at about 10am at Ore-Ofe Street Ile-Oluji in the Ile-Oluji Magisterial  District did conduct yourself in a manner to cause the breach of peace by taking nude video of one Faith Ogunyemi without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 249(d) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1 Law of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

“That you, Mohammed Ifedayo, on June 9, 2022 between the hours of 6am and 6pm at Ore-Ofe Street, Ile-Oluji in the Ile-Oluji magisterial district did unlawfully have in your possession a nude video of one Faith Ogunyemi and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 430(1) of the criminal code cap 37, vol. 1 laws of  Nigeria, 2006.

“That you, Mohammed Ifedayo, on June 11,2022 at about 8pm at Oke-Alafia street, Ile- Oluji in the Ile- Oluji Magisterial District did fraudulently request the sum of N20,000 from one Faith Ogunyemi with the pretense of deleting a nude video on your I-Phone and thereby committed offence off contrary to and punishable under section 433 of the criminal code Cap 37, volume. 1 laws of Ondo state.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Moremi told the court that he would be calling three witnesses to testify in the case

The defence counsel, Anthony Akinbinu, applied for the bail of the defendant in most liberal terms.

The Magistrate, Mrs Mosunmola Ikujuni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one credible surety in the like sum.

She said the surety must be residents within Ile-Oluji jurisdiction, the defendant and surety must attach original and photocopies of valid ID card for identification.

Ikujuni adjourned the case till July 14, 2022, for  hearing.
