An Akure based legal practitioner, Charles Titiloye, has said that the President Muhammadu Buhari anti-corruption crusade will sanitize judiciary in the country and ensure that judges leave above board.
The legal practitioner expressed hope in the president’s fight against corruption in a telephone interview with The Hope in Akure.
He noted that the Buhari-led Federal Government has restored hope in judiciary as the last hope of common man in ensuring those involved in corruption or stole public funds are not going scort free without being tried.
The recent conviction of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen over his false declaration of asset by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, he described as a welcome development to the country’s judiciary.
According to him, the trial of Justice Onnoghen was based on law and fact as presented before the court.
His words “The court decision on the case was not based on political reason but fact.”
The court judgement, he said will encourage public accountability and put an end to era of non -accountability in the country.
He commended Anti-Graft Agencies, CCT and the Federal Government for putting their best within the framework of justice system in the country and urged them not to relent.
