The National Coordinator of the Tinubu Support Group, Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has said that the Buhari-Tinubu alliance has benefitted Nigeria by forming a formidable political base that promotes national cohesion.

He emphasised that Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid is already a sealed deal that no desperate politician can overturn.

Speaking during an interview with journalists on Saturday, Alawuje urged Nigerians to embrace national unity and recognise the difference between true democrats and self-serving, desperate politicians.

He noted that history will vindicate both Buhari and Tinubu for their sacrifices in forging a strong political alliance that has benefitted Nigeria.

Alawuje highlighted the critical role played by both leaders in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly their historic alliance in 2013, which ultimately led to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, those who truly value Nigeria’s unity and progress will never forgive politicians attempting to destroy this legacy for selfish gains.

“The coming together of Buhari and Tinubu in 2013, 2014, and 2015 remains one of the most significant political collaborations in our history.

“It transcends personal interest and ethnic or religious affiliations. Their alliance paved the way for a more united and progressive Nigeria, and we must protect that legacy,” he said.

He recalled how many Nigerians lost hope before the 2015 elections due to the failed alliance of 2011.

He explained that the renewed partnership between the North and South has fostered political stability, reduced ethnic tensions, and encouraged inter-ethnic relationships, including marriages.

Alawuje, who is also the coordinator of Disciples of Jagaba, stressed that Nigeria must learn from past mistakes and work towards reconciliation rather than reopening old wounds.

Referring to the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, he prayed for forgiveness for those responsible and urged Nigerians to move forward.

“We must come together to heal our wounds, not reopen them. The past should serve as a lesson, not as a weapon to divide us again.

“Any politician seeking to reverse the progress we have made should be considered an enemy of the nation,” he warned.
