In his determination to ensure the standardisation of building construction in Ondo State, the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Gbenga Olaniyi, has inaugurated a five-man Ad-Hoc Team to strengthen the monitoring and enforcement of rules and regulations governing building construction in the state.
He said that the move is also intended to boost the revenue generation drive of the Ministry.

While presenting identification cards to members of the team at the Ministry’s headquarters in Akure, the Commissioner urged them to be dedicated to their assignment with utmost integrity and resist any temptation that could tarnish the good reputation of the Ministry and the people-oriented administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Olaniyi, who stated that members of the team were appointed to fill the gap of inadequate field officers in the Ministry, advised them to always seek clarification from any of the Ministry’s management staff on complicated issues they might encounter in the course of performing their duties.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Chief Bunmi Alade, highlighted their terms of reference, the required mode of operation, and the expected results from the assignment given to them.
In response, the leader of the team, Reverend Gbenga Awe, thanked the Commissioner and the management team of the Ministry for the opportunity given to them and pledged to carry out the assignment with utmost dedication.
Other members of the team are Comrade Sunday Ojo, Mr Taofeek Akeusola, Mr Olusola Isaiah, and Mrs Ilori Olayemi.
