CAF nominates two Nigerian referees for Confederation Cup

The Nigeria Referee Association  (NRA)has congratulated  two of its member who were nominated for Confederation of African Football, CAF, holding in Tunisia .

According to the  release made available to newsmen , by the national publicity secretary of Nigeria Referee Association, Mr Kelechi Mejuobi.

Two ambassadors of Nigeria in the world  of football refereeing, Abel Baba( Igwe) and Samuel Pwadutakam of the Kogi State and Adamawa State Referees Councils respectively are in far away Tunis, Tunisia to be part of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Confederation Cup.

The NRA wishes the referees best of luck in Tunis as they carry the country’s flag at the continental scene.

The President of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, Otunba Tade Azeez, has assured all that the members involved in  the Nigeria Premier league shall continue to maintain the tempo of fair and firm officiating.

In his renewed charge to referees to avoid antics of clubs and their officials at always wanting to gain favour from match officials through unorthodox means,  Tade said  the NRA shall not relent in asking for a conducive atmosphere to operate.

The NRA president reaffirmed the earlier positions of the Association not to honour matches at grounds where referees are attacked this season.

He reminded the referees not to abandon the spirit of fair play and handle their games in line with best practices accepted by FIFA as enshrined in the Laws of The Game.
