CAN @ 45: Akeredolu advocates prayers for Nigeria
Ondo State Governor, Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has admonished Christians to intensify prayers for the nation and serve as tool for spiritual refinement irrespective of political or ethnic sentiments.
Governor Akeredolu gave the admonition at the 45th anniversary of the Christian association of Nigeria and 2021 CAN Award ceremony held in Akure.
In his address, Governor Akeredolu congratulated CAN for the auspicious 45th anniversary assuring of his determination to fast track more growth in every sector of the economy.
Represented by his deputy, lucky Aiyedatiwa, Akeredolu appealed to the christian body to continue fervent prayers for the state and see themselves as their brother’s keeper.
On the menace of new COVID 19 Delta Variant, Akeredolu called on Christian body to assist government by adequately sensitizing the congregation on proper adherence to protocols particularly with the new Delta variant.
Earlier, CAN chairman in the state, Rev. John Oladapo charged Christians to be ambassadors of Christ and stand worthy of note in every sector they find themselves.
Also, chairman Awards and Honours Planning Committee, Pastor Moses Ajayi said the association was grateful to God for the successful hosting of the anniversary.
Award was presented to Governor Akeredolu with other eminent awardees who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavor.
