The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has charged Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel to sustain the tempo of air operations against bandits while ensuring the utmost protection of civilians.

His directive aligns with the NAF’s Civilian Harm Mitigation Action Plan, reinforcing the commitment to precision strikes that prioritise civilian safety.

According to a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, and made available to Weekend Hope, Air Marshal Abubakar gave this directive during his visit to the Air Component Headquarters of Operation Fansam Yamma in Katsina and Sokoto States.

Commending the dedication of troops in combating banditry, he urged them to maintain momentum, stressing that air power remains a decisive force in dismantling criminal strongholds and supporting ground forces in the ongoing counter-banditry campaign.

Recognising the pivotal role of intelligence, logistics, and troop welfare in operational success, the CAS reassured personnel of continuous support in these areas.

He underscored the importance of timely intelligence, well-maintained equipment, and high troop morale in achieving lasting security in the region.

As part of his visit, Air Marshal Abubakar conducted an on-the-ground assessment of operational aircraft and infrastructure projects.

He also inspected newly constructed accommodation and other facilities in Sokoto, ensuring that personnel have the necessary support to carry out their duties effectively.

Similarly, in Katsina, he evaluated key infrastructure projects, including a new hangar, accommodation blocks, and a base church, reflecting the NAF’s commitment to operational efficiency and personnel welfare.
