Religious leaders have been charged to be fervent in prayers, portray Christ-like behaviour and as well preach love, humility and unity to their followers so as to curtail incessant killings across the country.

Snr. Supt. Gabriel Akinadewo of Motalaitu Church of God gave this charge in his sermon during the 40 years remembrance of Saint Benjamin Akinadewo Adekahunsi the founder of Oke Igbala-Olu Missionary society Cherubim and Seraphim Church Cathedral in Ondo City.

Akinadewo  explained that the challenges facing Nigerians are caused by discrimination and liars.

“We have crisis in the country today because people are no longer saying the truth”, he added.

He advised Christians to always say the truth to separate light from darkness, because light represents development and darkness represents evil.

Speaking on the founder, Deaconess Grace Akinnifesi nee Akinadewo said her father has sacrificed time for the freedom of the Ekimoguns during the civil war.

She said religious leaders should teach their followers to love and have smooth relationship with their neighbours to overcome the difficulties in the country.

Rev David Akinadewo thanked God for the spiritual life of late Adekahunsi and also the good legacy he left which has helped the family in a great way.

He therefore charged Christians to make the love of others first priority at all times.

The late Benjamin Akinadewo Adekahunsi died on May 8, 1979 and was survived by successful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
