Channel resources to less privileged, cleric charges Nigerians

From Jimoh Ahmed, Ikare-Akoko

The Chief Imam of Arigidi Akoko in Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, Sheikh Jimoh Balogun, has appealed to wealthy and well to do Nigerians to always channel part of their resources the benefit the less privileged citizens .
Sheik Jimoh Balogun stated this in his sermon during Friday’s Jumat Service in Arigidi Akoko.
The cleric noted that government alone cannot alleviate the sufferings of the people but emphasized that individuals, corporate bodies and religious organizations, have roles to play to make life better for the people.
He called on the citizens to join hands with government and medical experts by abiding with all COVID-19 protocols and precautionary measures like use of nose masks, social and physical distancing to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the society.
Balogun was however worried by the lukewarm and nonchalant attitudes of the people, particularly in the rural areas of the country, to government’s directives .
