This year’s Easter festivity was celebrated in a low key as Christians in Akoko area went to Galilee as early as 7.00 am while others did so in the evening.
The Hope investigation revealed that some churches have earlier been in camps for spiritual activities like prayers, admonition, counselling and listening to bible studies.
At Akungba Akoko, christians assembled along Iwaro-Oka road, in Ikare, the worshipers congregated at Lennon Jubilee while other towns like Afin, Eshe, Okeagbe and Oka did similar things.
The vicar in charge of Holy Trinity Church, Akungba Akoko,. Venerable Foluso Akerele, said Jesus was embodiment of Love and therefore, everybody must embrace love.
Akerele declared that Nigerians have jettisoned love, hence, the wide spread ritual killings, banditry, corruption, selfishness and nepotism that were now the order of the day in the country.
He said that Jesus Christ died for us to have love peace and contentment.
The christian cleric urged ASUU and federal government to go back to negotiation table and show love for the sake of the future of the country, parents and students of poor Nigerians in public institutions.
