Christians have been warned about the imminence of death on mankind as a prelude to appearing on the throne of judgement to render their stewardship on earth.

The Anglican Bishop of Akure diocese, Rt. Revd Simeon Borokini gave the admonition in his sermon at the funeral service of the late Chief (Mrs) Esther Aina Ayodele at St James Anglican Church, Itaogbolu in Akure North Local Government Area.

According to the cleric, whether we like it or not, we are destined to die. And judgement is imminent. We have two ways of exit to meet our God through death or rapture”.

Quoting copiously from the scriptures, Amos Chapter 4, he enjoined Christians to always prepare to meet with God by total abstinence from various sins ranging from fornication, adultery to sharp practices in business transactions or deals that could incur God’s wrath on the people.

Borokini underscored the need for absolute faith in Jesus Christ as the universal currency in dire need for eternal life. He alluded to Peter, the Apostle while walking on the sea. His faith faltered, and he began to sink until Jesus appeared on the scene to rescue him.

Chief (Mrs) Esther Aina Ayodele aged 95 was survived by many children, grand children and other relations including Barrister Olugbuyiro Akinola.
