Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, has again re-emphasised that Governor Biodun Oyebanji will not waver in his well articulated vision to create economic and political opportunities to make lives more abundant for every Ekiti citizen.
For the vision to be actualised in record time, Mrs Afuye, charged the All Progressive Congress ( APC) members across the state to remain steadfast and unshakeable in their support for the Oyebanji – led administration.
Mrs Afuye, in a statement by her Special Assistant on Media, Victor Ogunje, said this in Ikere Ekiti, during her monthly empowerment programme, where over 110 citizens benefited cash gifts across the 11 wards in the council area.
The Deputy Governor, represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Victor Adeniyi, said she treated the monthly obligation with prime, because of the pivotal position the grassroots people occupy in the current dispensation.
The Ekiti’s number two citizen emphasised that the gesture would eventually reach everyone, since it was on rotational basis, assuring that nobody will be alienated from benefiting from democratic dividends under this administration on account of primordial sentiments.
“Governor Oyebanji does not joke with the welfare of the people at the grassroots. lt is the vision of my boss to ensure that everyone within and outside our political party has a taste of democratic dividends.
“On this premise, I have seen this monthly disbursement as a personal obligation to give all our people a sense of belonging.
“The encomiums and praises this government is getting on a daily basis are things of pride. But we will not be distracted by such as we keep making you, our people within and without this political party our priority.
” We shall not relent in ensuring that your welfare packages are guaranteed. We do this on rotational basis to avoid partiality, discrimination and marginalisation of any kind. Let us remain steadfast and focused. ln the end, no one will be left out, ”she said.
In his remarks, the APC Chairman, Ikere Local Government, Hon. Kayode Oyebode, praised the Deputy Governor for her consistency in the disbursement of the monthly stipends.
The APC stalwart noted that the generosity had further amplified Mrs Afuye’s huge commitment to the welfare of party members and non party members since assumption of office.
“Just like your boss, you have remained committed to our welfare. We shall repay this trust you have in us whenever duties beckon,” he assured.
Speaking for the beneficiaries, Messrs Feyisayo Ojo and Afuye Oluyemi, affirmed that the local government remained a stronghold of APC, appealing that all hands should remain on deck to ensure that the party records landslide victory in future elections.
