Cleric urges Christians to avoid using phones during service

The use of mobile phones during church services by Christians has been described as a serious distraction from the Word of God, especially among youths who require counseling and guidance to become future leaders.
The admonition was delivered by Pastor Gabriel Agbaje during the Sunday service at CAC Oluwadamilare, Aje Quarters, Okeagbe Akoko.
He emphasized that the church is a sacred place designated for holiness, and therefore, all activities within it must reflect the sanctity.
Pastor Agbaje noted, “The church is a sanctuary where we connect with God and grow spiritually. When we allow distractions like phone usage, we lose focus and miss the opportunity to receive God’s message fully.”
He appealed to the congregation, particularly the youth, to remain attentive during sermons to benefit from the spiritual guidance provided.
Furthermore, the pastor highlighted the negative influence of social media on some members, stating that it has become a platform for spreading harmful content and immoral behavior.
“It is important for every Christian to use social media responsibly and avoid engaging in activities that contradict the teachings of Christ,” he warned, urging believers to seek repentance and embrace positive change.
