Cleric urges Muslims to embrace devotion during Hajj

As Muslims gear up for the first ten days of the holy month of Hajj, the Chief Imam of Illah Allah Islamic Foundation Central Mosque in Agbo Okela, Ikare Akoko, Sheikh Abudu Atareaku, has called on believers to increase their dedication and prayers to fully benefit from the spiritual rewards of the sacred period.
Speaking with the The Hope, Sheikh Atareaku advised Muslims intending to sacrifice rams to observe important Islamic practices, including avoiding cutting their fingernails or shaving during this time, in accordance with religious teachings.
Speaking on the significance of the period, Sheikh Atareaku said, “These first ten days of Hajj are among the most blessed days in the Islamic calendar.
“Every act of worship performed now carries multiplied rewards. It is a time for sincere reflection, prayer, and drawing closer to Allah.”
He further stressed the importance of performing the pilgrimage rituals correctly, adding that, “Muslims embarking on Hajj must ensure they follow Allah’s commands meticulously.
“The acceptance of your pilgrimage depends on sincere obedience and devotion. For those celebrating Eid at home, I urge moderation and adherence to Islamic principles in all acts of worship and celebration.”
However, Sheikh Atareaku concluded by reminding the faithful to use the period to renew their faith and commitment to Islamic teachings.
