Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Dotun Owanikin has said all the state owned teams will comply with directives of Federal Ministry of Sports on resumption of sporting activities.
The Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare had earlier directed that no stadium would be opened for any football game without strict adherence to the sports protocols.
Dare added that there must be total implementation of clubs’ licensing control before the new football season can resume.
Owanikin in his reaction, said Ondo state will do all within its powers to ensure total compliance with sports protocols as directed by federal government.
The Commissioner said preparations are in top gear for the state owned team to resume for the new season, saying part of the preparation is the signing of a new coach for the team.
He said in the next few days, the team’s management will finalise the contractual paper of the new coach. “We will ensure we have confidence in the players ahead of the new season.”
“With the experience of the new coach we are bringing in and the calibre of the players we are recruiting, we are sure the team will make their fans happy this season.
“I’m sure we are going to do well on the log table this season,” he said.
