Ondo State, Coalition 2020 has adopted Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the candidate to support in the October 10 Governorship election .
Announcing the adoption at a mega meeting held in Akure,the state capital, Chairman of the group ,Mr Akin Akinbobola said the decision and choice was a collective one by the majority members of the group.
Coalition 2020, comprises 30 political parties, religious leaders, opinion moulders, women groups, interest groups, political leaders and youth organisations.
The Governor recently emerged as the choice of the group through a mock election organised by the Coalition 2020.
The Chairman of the group, Akinbobola described Akeredolu as a man of many parts and someone who is so passionate about taking the state from civil servants driven economy to an industrialized one.
He assured that the group will begin massive mobilization in all the units, wards, local governments for the re-election of Akeredolu.
He also cleared the air about the allegation that the group was bribed before adopting Akeredolu, saying that their conscience is cleared that the allegation was blatant lie and imaginations of those peddling the lies, adding that “we didn’t collect a kobo from the Governor”.
Governor Akeredolu while speaking at the gathering urged the people of the state to vote for continuity, saying that only continuity of his administration can bring about more development.
“We must vote for continuity for the stability of good governance and efficiency. All these are for our own advantage’,he stated.
