Rising Stars Team Manager, Sulaimon Folarin has admonished upcoming footballers in Nigeria and Ondo State to ensure they combine education with their football career.
Folarin stated this in an interview with the Sporting Hope in Akure, the state capital.
He said combining education with sports will be an added advantage to any sports man or woman in future, saying there is a limit one can go at a certain age in sports.
He noted that education is very key in every human endeavor, adding that as a sports performance education will be a fall back after retirement from active playing.
The ex- football player revealed that he ventured into coaching job after he quits active playing.
He said; “I have been able to raise array of stars in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),the likes of Jide Fatokun, Sodiq Rilwan both lads are products of my coaching philosophies and they are doing well with Sunshine Stars Football Club. Lots of them are outside the state doing well with their respective clubs”
According to him, “all I will tell all these young prospective stars is to be guided by what I referred to as (3D) Dedication ,Discipline and Determination ,because it’s only these (3D)coupled with fervent prayers that can take them to the top of their career.”
“As we all know football is a game of luck ,so any player that wants to reach the pinnacle of his career must be dedicated, discipline and have determination, they should know why they are doing what they are doing and know how to pray without seizing.”
