Commissioner assures Sunshine Stars, Queens payment of April Salary

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, has said the situation where players and officials of Sunshine Stars and Queens had not gotten April salary was not an intentional one and that the government was on top of the situation.
Yusuf-Ogunleye said before the end of the coming week, the players will start receiving alerts for their salary.
The Commissioner added that it was on record that the governor approved the increase of Subvention for the agency when he resumed and said he said he had spoken with the players that their money will be paid as soon as possible.
“We are committed to the welfare of our athletes. it’s just a small glitch, this coming week, they will receive their alert. Mr governor doesn’t joke with welfare of workers and you know he loves sports and that’s why we are seeing huge investment and restructuring going on, they will soon get alert and it is on record that this administration has never delayed in paying them,so it is never intentional,” he said.
