Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye has congratulated the soccer  loving people of the state on the victory of Sunshine Stars Football Club at the just concluded Gov. Wike Unity Cup in Rivers State.

Reacting to the victory of the Akure based team, the commissioner attributed the success to the restructuring of the club, commitment from the players and coaches and massive support of Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

This was contained in a release he personally signed and made available to the newsmen in Akure the state Capital .

According to the release , ” I am very happy and proud of the team, as you know, this is our second trophy in the pre season in readiness for the big kick off.

The restructuring we are carrying out is paying off and we want to seek the cooperation of all stakeholders so that we can all celebrate at the end of the coming season “.

” Mr Governor has been our pillar, the players and coaches have been fantastic, the ODSFA leadership has been wonderful, i say thank you to everyone and dedicate the trophy to the soccer loving people of the state”.

As we celebrate Christmas, I want to reassure the people of Ondo State of the resolve of government to take sports development to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Once again, we salute our sports men and women who did us proud at the 19th National Sports festival in Abuja.

The performance of Team Ondo was impressive.
