Commissioner passes vote of confidence on Dogo

The Ondo State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Mr Saka Yusuf Ogunleye has passed a Vote of Confidence on the Kabiru Dogo led Sunshine Stars coaching crew.

Ogunleye, during a meeting  to review and re-examine the Owena Whales performance in the just concluded 2018/19 regular season, gave Dogo and his crew a pass mark for guiding the team to safety in the dreaded abridged championship.

“Though Sunshine did not qualify for continental, Coach Dogo and his crew have our vote of confidence, more is expected from the team come next season. The technical crew should fortify the team in the areas of necessity.”

“I commend ODSFA management and other stakeholders for working assiduously and providing adequate supports to the team during the campaign.”_ Ogunleye added.

The Commissioner however called for sustained love and unity of purpose with the ranks of Sunshine Stars and urged all stakeholders to eschew any act capable of breeding discord within the team.

While responding, Coach Dogo, who expressed gratitude to the Government, ODSFA and the good people of the State vowed to present an improved side next season as he called for continued support for Sunshine Stars adding that he aimed for successful campaign in the 2019 AITEO Cup.

Dogo: “we will do the needful to present a team that Ondo people will be proud of come next season. I want all stakeholders to continue their supports for us, we will give our best in the AITEO Cup,” Dogo said.

Also it was resolved at the meeting that an Advisory Committee which will include the Commissioner, ODSFA Boss, Sunshine Stars Director, the Agency’s Secretary and past Chairmen, State FA and Referees Association Chairman be put in place for the common good of the Club as the Aketi Government has vowed not to play politics with the darling team of the State.

Ogunleye expressed gratitude to the good people of the state for thier support and promised a better outing next season with more government attention and support for the team.
