Management of Gloryland Community Primary School, Akure has conferred leadership award on the Chairman of the community, Pastor Sunday Adeyemi as distinguished Man of Development in Gloryland community.
Adeyemi received the award at the end of the year and Christmas Carol party of the school, in Akure
According to the Headteacher of the school, Mrs Rachael Aladegbaye, the chairman was conferred with the award for “establishing the community primary school in 2018 and the construction of the school building in 2020 with the assistance of the government in the state.
The headteacher added that part of Adeyemi’s roles in promoting education in the community was the achievement of the school autonomy in August 2021 for the community to have government primary school.
Other achievements the awardee brought to the community according to her during his yet to be completed two terms as the chairman of the community include healthcare centre, new electrical transformer, bridge, polling unit, the community market, and constitution amendment.
She thanked Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for building the primary school for th community and granting its autonomy.
In his remark, Pastor Adeyemi, said the school was established in August 2018 with free coaching for six pupils before it was finally approved by the state government in 2019.
He added that 46 lockers and chairs under his leadership were facilitated and supplied by Governor Akeredolu’s administration to the school.
Adyemi noted that the health care centre built by the present government in the state for the community has been delivered at the centre.
Other highlights of the events include cultural dance, scripture reading, drama, presentation of Christmas carol songs and other gifts presented to the awardee.
