The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been charged to conduct free, fair and credible elections to guarantee peace in the country.

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), for Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the next month polls, Prince Adebanjo Edema, who gave the charge, observed that the only panacea for peace is to make the forthcoming elections credible and devoid of manipulation.

Edema urged INEC to conduct elections that will guarantee the future of the nation’s democracy, just as he warned the electoral umpire against what could undermine the peaceful conduct of the polls.

He also expressed concern over the refusal of president Muhammadu Buhari to sign the electoral bill into law, noting that this may cause problem and easy manipulation of election results even at the polling booths.

On his ambition, Edema promised to offer his constituents proper representation and facilitate various developmental projects according to the needs of the people, if elected.

Edema also promised to reverse Ondo State oil production quota to end the cheating, rural communities renewal and revitalization and fight against coastal and environmental degradation.
