Circumstances surrounding the death of a medical doctor identified as Dr Babatunde Campbell, who reportedly died in his hospital still remained a puzzle to the residents of Ore in Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State.
The doctor was said to have died at the early hours of Thursday in his clinic, Glory Field Hospital, Ore, after his daily routine ward round.
A reliable source who craved anonymity told The Hope Metro that the medical practitioner was hale and hearty, before the unfortunate incident happened.
According to him, Dr. Campbell went round the hospital’s wards on daily routine without showing any sign of ailment.
”On getting back to his office, he sent for an electrician to fix some cables in the hospital.
”The electrician said when he got to the deceased’s office, he greeted him, but he didn’t respond.
“The man said he thought he was initially sleeping. So, he kept greeting him, but no response. At that point, he called the hospital staff to wake the doctor.
“It was then the staff discovered he has died.
One of the hospital staff who did not want her name in print, told our correspondent that the doctor sent her to call the electrician to fix some cables in the hospital. But surprisingly, he died few minutes later.
“We were so surprised, because immediately he was through with the ward round, he asked me to call an electrician to fix some cables and bulbs which I did instantly.
“It was like a drama when the electrician came later to call us that Oga was sleeping and that we should come and wake him up. But on getting there.
”Oga has given up the ghost. He was okay. He wasn’t sick at all. He was strong and hearty,” the nurse said.
