Congratulations BTO

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has not left anyone in doubt in his resolve to think and act out of the box. This he demonstrated at the inauguration of  executive members of his administration.  For the first time in the history of Nigeria, the executive council is made up of 25 percent women, though fell short of the Maputo protocol which is 35%. He also appointed six youths and gave them critical ministries to superintend over.

ONE  of those the president placed such huge responsibilities is  the minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, a former House of Representatives member representing Akoko North East and Akoko North West  Federal  Constituency respectively. Bunmi as legislator executed impactful projects in his constituency. This probably earned the minister an elevation to serve at the federal executive council.

WE commend the president for his boldness and by appointing the  right persons into office. We congratulate, Mr. Bunmi Ojo and wish him God’s speed in his new task. His appointment has put to rest the issue of minister of state in which the state representatives are usually given in the last 16 years. We recollect that Dr. Olusegun Mimiko was the last substantive minister from Ondo state.

WE are confident that Mr. Olubunmi Ojo would impact meaningfully into the lives of people as well as the staff of the  ministry  which he occupies. The minister superintends of departments like Customs, Immigration, Civil Defense, the Correctional Centers among others.

THESE departments we believe are areas where government would definitely recruits youths to work. We therefore encourage the minister to assist antagonize of the state to be gainfully employed.

WE also enjoin the Honorable minister to lobby within the executive council for the quick take off of Ondo port. The project was approved at the twilight of the immediate past administration and seeing to the realization of the project would turn enhance the economic prosperity of Ondo state. Aquaculture economy is a very lucrative venture. The sea port would boost the economy of the state because of the heavy economic activities associated with such maritime ventures. There will be an increase in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), real estate will appreciate as it is in Lagos State and more industries will also spring up around the location of the port.

RESOURCES  derivable from where the port is to be cited are hugely innumerable. They include Fishery  Gas and Crude Oil. Therefore, lives of those living in the area will be changed for better and by extension Ondo state. thus improving  trade and commerce, create job opportunities, boost the economy and attract foreign investors.

THE  quick take off of the project will also facilitate the exploration of  the Bitumen which had been on the ground without being tapped for years. The port would draw attention of investors to it. Ondo state has the largest and longest coastline in the country.

WE quickly point out that Mr. Bunmi Ojo is on the threshold of history as whatever he achieves during his time as the Minister of Interior would go a long way as to what becomes of his political career.

THE Hope wishes him a roaring success in his new sear  and service to humanity.
