The Chairman Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State , Mr. Ade Adetimehin, has expressed confidence that the party will become stronger, united and focused than ever when the proposed amendment of constitution review scaled through.
He said that it was not true that the constitution review was initiated to give room for some members to have waiver for elections.
Adetimehin disclosed this during a radio programme on Radio Nigeria in Akure, the State capital.
According to him, “within the confinement of our party’s constitution there is room for waiver. We give room for waiver for the purpose of level playing ground because there is no founder or new intakes, it depends on how you play your game”
It would be recalled that the review of the party’s constitution is being done regionally.
He explained that the constitution review was to make the party serve people better and for the smooth running of the party.
The chairman added that the APC as a party of ideology would continue to serve Nigerians and make their interest a priority.
Adetimehin said the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise of the party would come to an end this month with the introduction of online registration to give more opportunity for people to register.
The online registration, he said would be introduced following the increase in the registration of people with the party.
He averred that the exercise had witnessed an explosion in number of membership.
